What inspires a poet to write?
Poetry has characteristics that are unique and distinct from prose. What inspires writers to write poetry? Writers draw inspiration from many places, including the work of other writers and their own lives .
What is the poet inspired by?
"The idea that poetry comes from beyond oneself is vital, as is the sense that one writes a poem in a condition that is often associated with a spiritual position, i.e., the condition of humility. One doesn't know what one's doing and is inspired in that respect. In my case, by my late father.
